Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is a type of therapy based on the science of learning and behavior. It's used to help people, particularly those with autism and other developmental disorders, learn new skills and improve or change behaviors. ABA therapy focuses on understanding how behaviors work and how they are affected by the environment, using positive reinforcement to encourage desired behaviors and reduce unwanted ones.

What to Expect

First, we will schedule your assessment. This initial session will provide your therapist with all the information they need to determine how to approach the client. This session will be long and will require your presence.

Next, your therapist will create the behavioral support plan outlining the information collected in the initial session. Each behavior of concern will have a replacement behavior and tools to continue reinforcing that behavior.

The next session will occur after the behavioral support plan has been approved. Your therapist will train you on how to implement the client's behavioral support plan.

We provide long term behavioral support for the client. While the therapist will work one on one with the client, it is required for the caregivers and staff to continue to document incidences and behaviors and to implement the behavior support plan. This is to ensure lasting change for the client.

Telehealth Services

We know that circumstances are different for everyone. We offer telehealth as an alternative to in person services. The behavior support plan is designed with the caregiver and staff in mind. As long as you are able to implement the behavior support plan the therapist can guide you through everything you need so that travel does not have to be a barrier to getting the help your client needs.
