Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
At this time we do not take medicaid or private insurance. We only work with clients in the Medicaid Waiver Program. We can also take private pay.
How long does a therapy session last?
The initial assessment can take up to two hours. This session is longer so the therapist can gather all the information needed about the client. Training the caregivers and staff in the behavioral support plan can take up to two hours. A typical session is about one hour.
Do the caregivers have to participate?
Yes! While working with the client one on one is great, it is imperative that the caregivers have adequate training and interaction with the client implementing the behavior support plan so that lasting change can occur even while the therapist is away. If your client attends an dayhab center during the day the therapist will train the staff and the caregiver does not have to be present.
What ages do you work with?
We work with adults primarily, but we do also work with clients aged eight and up.
How often will they be seen by the therapist?
The frequency of visits will depend on the behavior support plan. Typically we see the therapist meeting with the client two days a month.
Is telehealth effective?
Our approach to behavioral support focuses highly on the client incorporating the new behaviors into their daily life. Since the caregivers and staff are the people that interact with the client on a daily basis, the focus is on training everyone who cares for the client so that there is no regression in progress once the therapist leaves. This is why telehealth can still be an option even if the client is not present.
